This project was the complete renovation and design of a very steep and long railway embankment that ran along the boundary of the garden.
Extreme level changes were overcome by creating curved and straight timber sleeper retaining walls along the embankment, with steps providing access to raised seating areas and viewpoints that look back across the garden.
Large expanses of ornamental planting and ground covers knit together to provide seasonal colour and soften the sections of timber retaining walls. Small trees, blocks of flowering shrubs, drifts of perennials, rockery plants and grasses combine to create interest all year round.
