An enclosed walled garden with severe level changes and fantastic views needed a complete redesign due to the construction of a new contemporary home along one wall.
Levels were addressed by creating a terraced garden across the site with a series of lawn terraces, banked planting, footpaths, and stone walling. A series of cascading pools creates a central focal point, and the lower pool ends on the main lawn terrace.
A curving pergola walk leads along the lower section of the garden adjacent to the lowest lawn area and links with a second walled kitchen garden. Large areas of planting provide colour and structure year-round. Other elements include a small arboretum, large terraces off the house, a viewing platform, sculptural pots and incidental seating areas.
